Our Panel training encompasses a thorough grounding in the role, function and legal framework of an effective Fostering Panel. It is designed to support Panel members and Fostering Service staff to gain an oversight of what constitutes a quality assurance process, a deeper understanding of analysis and sound decision making.
OBJECTIVES
- To understand the role and function of Panel
- To understand what is meant by quality assurance and the legal framework that supports Fostering Panels
- To review how the Agency can quality assure the effectiveness of its Panel.
- To explore the role and the boundaries of Panel in quality assuring the items that are presented.
- An opportunity to discuss some (formerly known as) Serious Case Reviews.
- Sharing of information and ideas to enhance the effectiveness of Panel.
- Panel members to gain a deeper understanding of how they arrive at recommendations.
- Panel members gain an understanding of ‘self’ and the impact of this on their decision making.
