Ofsted has announced that it will be carrying out visits to local areas alongside the Care Quality Commission (CQC) from October to find out about arrangements for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The visits aim to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the SEND system and to support improvement. Inspectors will work collaboratively with local areas to identify what has worked well for children and young people as well as what the challenges and lessons learned have been. Ofsted has published guidance for inspectors on carrying out these visits.
