Knife crime and school exclusions

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Knife Crime has published a report following an inquiry looking at the role school exclusions may be playing in exacerbating the increase in knife crime; and what can be done to support vulnerable young people.

Recommendations include: school rankings and results must take account of all pupils, including those they exclude; excluded children and young people must have access to the full-time education they are legally entitled to; schools must be recognised for the central role they play in a multi-agency response to keeping children safe.
