Rachel Cole, Head of Operations and Services at FosterTalk has published her first set of children’s books as part of her ‘Amazing Bodies’ series.

Rachel told us, “Growing up reading was a positive routine in my household, it started with my dad reading a bedtime story every night, to me writing poems and short stories in my teens. Reading has been a way to learn new things along with a positive escapism delving into lives and the reality of the characters; which is something I have enjoyed during difficult times.

My interest in creating stories and poems was renewed when I had my daughter Sarae, her curious and active mind inspire me to write to help her learn new things. I was keen to create stories, poems and activities to encourage interactive learning that readers could connect with and see characters that look like themselves. Representation is close to my heart so the stories celebrate culture and diversity.”

Rachel’s first two books in her Amazing Body series “These Feet of Mine” & “These Hands of Mine” are aimed at 5 years and under and have been lovingly created to encourage learning and creativity from an early age,

“These books are tools to support parents teach their children learn new things. Learning can be simple and fun and children are like sponges and pick up on some many things. In the book I have used everyday activities to help children understand new things. My books are also aimed to raise aspirations and plant seeds of hope and ambitions. Children have wonderful limitless mind, filled with confidence. I want children to dream and imagine they can be whatever they desire and it is important that this starts from a young age.”
