Coronavirus: school attendance in the UK

The Department for Education (DfE) has published a summary of how many children and teachers attended education and childcare settings in England. Figures show that: 80% of settings were open on 30 April 2020, an increase from 79% the week before; 137,000 children of critical workers and 58,000 vulnerable children attended an educational setting on 30 April, up from 125,000 and 50,000 respectively the week before. Scottish Government figures show that fewer than 1% of pupils on average attended hubs that remain open to care for the children of key workers and vulnerable pupils during the coronavirus pandemic with 6,600 pupils attending. The Welsh Government has published figures which show that on average 519 settings were open each day in the week 27 April to 1 May, little change from the previous week, and that 4,400 pupils attended settings, up from 4,000 in the previous week.
