The Welsh Government has published a report assessing the impact of coronavirus alert levels and restrictions on children’s rights, including their impact on a child’s right to be protected from all forms of violence, abuse, neglect and bad treatment by their parents or anyone else who looks after them. Findings include: the initial lockdown arrangements reduced the number of safeguarding referrals about children; and since schools have returned to full operation safeguarding referral levels have recovered, but cases are more complex.
