Understanding Behaviours 28/02/2022
This course will support foster carers to appreciate the complexities of challenging behaviours and to enable the assessment of a foster child’s underlying needs. It will introduce the attachment theory, the secure base model and practical techniques to manage behaviours.
OBJECTIVES
- Introduce the attachment theory and how this can help to understand a child’s behaviours
- Explain how a child’s early experiences can affect their behaviour patterns
- Introduce the secure base model and how this can support management of behaviours
- Introduce the ABC model and how this can support management of behaviour
