The findings of a research study commissioned by Social Care Wales, and conducted by the Children’s Social Care Research and Development Centre (CASCADE) at Cardiff University, have been published. The report, ‘The experiences and outcomes of children and young people from Wales receiving Secure Accommodation Orders’, finds that changes are needed to improve the system of secure accommodation for children and young people from Wales.
Recommendations include developing a national strategy on how to best provide the complex care needed by young people who are among the most vulnerable and stigmatised children in Wales.
