BACK TO NEWSOfsted has published fostering statistics for England for the period 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020. Figures show that: there were an estimated 89,200 fostering places in England as at 31 March 2020; and during 2019/20 there were 2,495 allegations of abuse made against foster carers, 1,580 or 63% of which were made by fostered children against their foster carers.
