This training is designed to support social workers to facilitate Life Story work with foster carers. It provides guidance on key planning, the skill sets required and best practice techniques for foster carers. The course will outline how to effectively facilitate work with young people appropriately and how to apply correct processes to achieve positive outcomes.

- Review what we mean by life story work for foster carers
- Explore effective methods and techniques used in life story work
- Identify the required skills for social workers to be effective
- Support social workers to explain difficult life stories to children and young people
- Explain how the organisation can work as a corporate parent
- Introduce the DFE Knowledge and Skills Statement
